1. Find peace at St Albans Cathedral and Gardens

Why: Visiting historical and spiritual sites like St Albans Cathedral can help you feel peace and contemplation. The architecture and history also provide a welcome distraction from daily stresses. The surrounding gardens offer a tranquil space for gentle walks, reflection and connecting with nature, which promotes calmness and reduces anxiety.

How: Catch a Thameslink service to St Albans City station, which takes less than 20 minutes from London St Pancras. The cathedral and gardens are a short walk from the station and are well signposted. Entry to the cathedral is usually free (though donations are welcome) and the gardens are open to the public.
