Relaxing spots around King's Cross

Looking to escape the concrete jungle and find green spaces in the big city? Well look no further! With acres of traffic-free open space, King’s Cross is a green oasis in the heart of London. You can enjoy leafy parks, squares and beautifully landscaped gardens. Here’s a selection of the best relaxing spots around King’s Cross.

Camley Street nature park

Only 5 minutes away from St Pancras station, lies Camley Street Nature park. It’s the perfect place to take a stroll and clear your head from all the hustle and bustle of the city life. Share company with adorable ducks swimming in the ponds and streams. Bring your little ones along to get off their screen and enjoy playing outdoors. The park is baby-stroller friendly too! Once they’re all tired out from running around, there’s a cute cafe situated at the entrance of the park to enjoy some tea or coffee too.

Bagley walk

Just across the road from Camley Street Nature park is the hidden gem of Bagley walk. An old railway viaduct converted into a park way overlooking the scenic canal. The path is framed by colourful flowers and hedges. Sit on the many benches and take in all the beautiful scenery with a friend. This place is perfect for quiet reflection and provides a great setting for photography. Take notice of the berries in the trees and the birds that may be taking a swim in the canal.

Check out the unique ‘Words on Water’ book barge for a unique book shop experience. They have a range of genres from fiction to nonfiction, fantasy to poetry. Granary Square

Visit Granary Square, where your kids will have a blast splashing and playing in the fountains on a hot day. It looks particularly spectacular at night when the lights are switched on. The square is animated with over 1,000 choreographed fountains which are each individual controlled. It makes for quite the light show and performance! The space also has a lot of history to it, as it was built where barges once unloaded their goods.
