Brighton Pride

Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 August 2026

If you’re planning one standout LGBTQ+ event in the UK, this is one that many people build their entire summer around. Brighton Pride takes over the city across a full weekend, with a glorious parade weaving from the seafront through the streets, live music in Preston Park, and the Pride Village Party lighting up Kemptown late into the night. It’s big, bold and brilliantly organised, but what really stays with you is the atmosphere, with thousands of people turning up as themselves, celebrating proudly and unapologetically. Go for the headline acts and the spectacle, stay for the feeling of community and camaraderie.

Cambridge Pride

For Cambridge Pride in 2026, Stagecoach East is offering a FREE shuttle bus service from Cambridge railway station to the event on Jesus Green for Thameslink and Great Northern ticket holders.

Travelling to Pride events has never been easier. With frequent services connecting London and other major cities in the South East, you can easily get to the biggest Pride events in the UK travelling on Thameslink, Southern, and Great Northern Railway.

Edward Carpenter, EM Forster and Ali Smith punctuate this one hour walking trail exploring how Cambridge has been instrumental in community and political organising.

    Gay’s The Word​

    Nearest station: London King’s Cross / St Pancras International​

    Britain’s oldest LGBT+-focused bookshop is located on Marchmont Street. Founded in 1979, it stocks the freshest novels, poetry, biographies, and you can often meet the authors and join in special events. Independently-owned, here you’re sure to find something to entertain, inspire and challenge you.

  • A plaque on a brick wall

    Highbury Fields

    Nearest station: Finsbury Park​

    The first gay rights demonstration in the country took place in this North London communal space on 27th November 1970 when 150 protestors held a rally calling for an end to harassment. London’s first Pride then took place in 1972. A striking upside-down triangle plaque serves as a focus point for reflection here.

    Centred around St James’ Street, Brighton’s gay village is at the heart of its Pride weekend celebrations as well as Bear Weekend and Trans Pride. Named one of the world’s 50 coolest neighbourhoods, community spirit is strong here – which you’ll feel instantly on your visit!

    The UK’s first and only LGBT+ museum is a must visit. Entry is free and you can explore what it means to be part of the LGBT+ community in the UK today, and through history, in this dedicated national venue. Queer Britain also hosts special events and workshops for all.
