If you’re feeling a bit more peckish, fear not. Just a few minutes away from the station, take a scenic walk to Pancras Square to find an array of dine-in restaurants. It’s also the perfect place to catch up with friends over a warm meal.

Rails restaurant in the heart of King’s Cross and St Pancras offers modern British cuisine in the comfort of Parisian chic decor, paying homage to transport links to Paris. They also offer a selection of high tea, including the “Afternoon tea that shall not be named”, a perfect retreat for any Harry Potter fan visiting the famous Platform 9 and ¾ at King’s Cross Station.

If you’re after something a bit less formal, TORTILLA are offering a ‘sunsets menu’ after 5pm, giving you a choice of a main from just £10. Tuck in to a Mexican burrito or try out their new juicy corn ribs or queso fundido.

Kimchee is just around the corner serving authentic Korean cuisine and desserts with a modern twist. You won’t be able to miss it with the cute giant frog they have located right outside it. Try out their new hot pots and do it yourself BBQ tables downstairs for a unique experience suited to how you like your meat.

Shopping

The station is home to many luxury brands such as Chanel, Calvin Klein, Ted Baker and more. Pop in to the Harry Potter Shop at the famous Platform 9 and ¾ for all sorts of wonderful wizarding merch.

Keep the kids entertained at Hamleys toy shop which is open till 9pm. Check out the colourful clothes and novelty items Oliver Bonas including an ‘All New Dad Jokes’ book.

Coal Drops Yard upscale shopping centre is also only a short 10 minute walk from the station for stylish finds.

Museums and culture

Kings Cross is a cultural hub for arts and history and there are plenty of must-visit spots for tourists and locals alike. The British Library, the national library of the UK, is only a 10 min walk away from the station and is home to the Magna Carta and handwritten lyrics form the Beatles. Other exciting sites include the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, Charles Dickens Museum and, The Foundling Museum. It’s also worth seeing the London canal museum and checking out the floating book barge ‘Word on Water’ on Regent’s Canal.

Leisure and picnic spots

If you want to work up a sweat, Pancras Square leisure grants access to gym, fitness and swimming pool facilities. You can also just sit back and relax in their sauna and steam rooms and grant yourself a well-deserved break.

Why not swing by the IFO (Identified Flying object) giant bird cage swing at Battle Bridge place? The installation really comes to life at night when it is lit up in neon multicoloured lights.

There’s plenty of outdoor areas such as Camley Street Natural Park for those looking to enjoy a bit of nature in the city. Be sure to take some time out to sit on a bench and reflect on the public art installations at Pancras Square.

Kids will also have a blast running through the fountains at Granary Square. The steps toward the canal offer a beautiful view perfect for a picnic and in the summer they install a floating ‘Screen on the canal’ for an outdoor film festival from the Jul 1 - Aug 18.
