Tired after a long day at work?

Thameslink has you covered with entertainment scenes across London Bridge to help you unwind and destress from the daily grind.

From theatrical performances to immersive experiences, this guide unveils the diverse, vibrant range of attractions awaiting you in the heart of the city.

Whether you’re in the mood for soulful melodies or captivating dramas, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Theatre along the Thameslink

With Shakespeare’s Globe within a 13 minute walking distance from London Bridge station, the world is your oyster. Spend an artful evening with the arts of one of the greatest playwrights to ever exist. Transport yourself back in time to Shakespeare's London by taking a walking tour around the iconic theatre. If you’re a literature and theatre buff, like me you’ll enjoy watching the actors bring the beloved characters to life and performing on the stunning historical stage.

If modern musicals are more up your street, Bridge Theatre, is located only a stone’s throw away from the station, and watching their latest performance is a delightful way to spend your evening. The contemporary venue is renowned for its groundbreaking production from thought-provoking dramas to lively comedies.

Looking for more age-appropriate watches which you can enjoy with your kids? Check out the Unicorn Theatre, which is the UK’s leading theatre for young audiences aged up to 13. They provide innovative productions that engage children’s curiosity and teach them to explore the world creatively.

Fancy catching a film? Everyman Borough Yards just around the corner provides the perfect movie night with luxurious cushioned seating and food brought straight to your seat! They show the newest Hollywood blockbusters as well as old throwback films to cater to your nostalgia.

Museums on the move

For the fashionistas amongst us, take a ten minute walk in style to the Fashion and Textile Museum, the UK’s only museum dedicated to showcasing contemporary fashion and textile design. Explore their beautiful collections and exhibitions of designs from around the world after work. I personally enjoyed examining the detailing of the fabric and studying the beautiful textures. Who knows it might inspire you to revamp your aesthetic.

If you’d like to add a bit more colour and art into your life, take a short walk to the world famous Tate Modern. It’s completely free to visit and offers an impressive display of sculptures, photography and paintings. If you feel like expressing yourself and taking part in the artistic experience, why not have a doodle with the interactive Tate draw game? The Corner cafe is also the perfect place to unwind with a sweet treat after clocking off from work. I enjoyed an orange blossom cake and some tea after hours whilst catching up with a friend and it was simply divine.

I am also a big fan of the hit show ‘Blown Away’ and this inspired me to visit London Glassblowing on Bermondsey street, where they have previously featured work from one of the winner’s of the show. I’d highly recommend going if you’d like to see professional glassblowers at work inside a hot shop and meander round at their mesmerising creations. The glass art is also available for sale if you liked to bring some home.

Immersive experiences

If you’re searching for an escape from the concrete jungle of central London, try surrounding yourself in greenery by visiting the stunning Sky garden only a 10 minute walk away from London bridge station. As the name suggests, it’s London’s highest public garden situated in the sky. It provides the perfect harmony of nature within the city and is a lovely way to destress after a busy day at the office computer. It’s open until 6pm Monday-Friday and it’s completely free to book a ticket.

If you’re feeling a bit more brave and daring, why not check out the spooky London Bridge experience? Filled with cursed paintings and ghostly history, experience London’s gruesome adventure and uncover the dark secrets that lie beneath the world’s most famous haunted bridge. This could also make for an exciting family night out with the kids.

And finally, why not elevate your evening by spending some time at one of London’s most iconic landmarks - The Shard? Enjoy dinner with stunning views of the city skyline along with sophisticated ambiance, coupled with top-notch entertainment.

All of these adventures are only a convenient few steps away from London bridge station, the heart of office night-life, accessible by Thameslink services.
