When can I use an sTicket? 

  • Available for selected train routes where sTickets are enabled
  • Suitable for frequent travellers using weekly, monthly, custom-period, flexi, or annual passes
  • You can check availability for your route during the purchasing process

Limitations

  • Not available for journeys involving London Underground and Cross-London travel
  • Not valid on Travelcards/Zonal tickets

How can I save further, and what discounts are available? 

  • Railcards: Railcard discounts available on Season tickets include the 16-17 Saver and Jobcentre Plus Travel Discount card holders
  • Gold Card: Adult passengers who buy a full priced Annual Season ticket, will automatically receive a Gold Card, which unlocks additional savings on leisure travel
  • keyGo: If your travel needs are irregular, consider using keyGo. It automatically calculates the best fare for your journeys, compared with a Weekly Season ticket
  • Monthly and annual savings: Monthly and Annual Season tickets offer greater value compared to weekly options if you travel consistently

How to get started

  1. Log in or create an account: Access or set up your Thameslink account
  2. Purchase your sTicket: Check eligibility during the purchasing process
  3. Upload a passport-style photo (only required for first-time purchases, excluding Flexi Season sTickets). If a member of rail staff can't confirm you are the ticket holder, you may be charged the full ticket price or liable to a penalty fare. Your photo must be: recognisable, passport-style, and unfiltered
  4. Download and view: Your sTicket will be available in the "My Tickets" section of the Thameslink app. 
  5. Travel effortlessly: Scan your sTicket at the gate or show it to staff when required
