Find out what we’re doing to improve Thameslink trains, stations and services.

New trains and more regular services

We’re investing in new trains, extra carriages and more services, including:

  • Connections with Eurostar at St Pancras and Crossrail (for Heathrow & Canary Wharf) at Farringdon
  • Two trains per hour throughout the night/early am to Luton Airport
  • 1,140 new Siemens Class 700 12-car trains operating on the route by 2018
  • Completion of Thameslink Programme in 2018 will see up to 24 trains per hour through the centre of our network
  • New direct Thameslink routes from Peterborough and Cambridge

Better deals on fares

We’re bringing in more great deals on our tickets:

  • more money-saving Advance tickets on our routes
  • Super Off-Peak fares during the week from 2018
  • flexible season tickets for part-time workers in selected areas

Improved stations

Govia Thameslink, which owns Thameslink, is sprucing up its stations, with:

  • £50 million being invested in stations
  • free Wi-Fi at 104 stations
  • full-time staffing at 101 stations, from the first to the last train
