Finding a quieter train

Do you want to avoid the rush? Find out when you’re most likely to be sure of a seat on Thameslink trains.

We want your journey to be as comfortable as possible. While we can’t guarantee a seat during our peak hours, there are services that are less busy than others.

If you have some flexibility in your travel time, you may want to choose one of these services to increase your chances of getting a seat.

Check the list below to see which of the trains from your station are usually standing room only and which have more free seats.

If your station is marked with an asterisk (*), it means you have a good chance of getting a seat on every service.

For other stations, download the linked PDF document to see which are quieter trains with more seats.
