As well as the popular live beehive! You can explore of the city's history, spanning from the prehistoric Ice Age to the present day. Interactive exhibits and displays include Roman treasure and a mock Anglo-Saxon burial. There is also a fine art collection which focusses on Essex artists, whilst the extended building contains displays on Chelmsford's industries, such as Marconi’s wireless factory, and Chelmsford pioneers Crompton and Hoffman. There’s plenty for children and families to enjoy when they visit, with free trails available from the welcome desk, and plenty of events during the school holidays.
