Bluebell Railway

The Bluebell Railway was the first preserved standard gauge passenger line in the world, and now runs steam trains on a 22‐mile return trip between East Grinstead and Sheffield Park. Come and meet friendly railway staff in period clothing, visit our excellent museum exhibitions and see original working signal boxes and signals. Get up close to the heat of the footplate, while you watch the driver and fireman prepare the locomotive for travel. Enjoy the thrilling sights, sounds and smells associated with those powerful locomotives. Step back in time to the atmospheric days of steam as you board our historic carriages and experience a more refine way of travelling. There are plenty of opportunities for the kids 'let off steam' at Kingscote's playground and the Horsted Keynes soft play 'Elephant Van'.
