Engineering work for Today

Amended trains between Bedford / Three Bridges / Lewes and Brighton on Sunday 22 September

Routes affected:
Southern between London Victoria and Brighton and between Brighton and Seaford / Hastings Thameslink between Bedford and Brighton

Engineering work is taking place between London Blackfriars and London Charing Cross / London Bridge, closing some lines and also between Preston Park / Lewes and Brighton, closing the line.

Southern

Trains between London Victoria and Brighton are diverted between Preston Park and Brighton via Hove.

Trains to Brighton will have journey times extended by up to 15 minutes after leaving Preston Park.

Trains from Brighton will depart 20 minutes earlier than normal.

Some trains will call additionally at Balcombe, Haywards Heath, Wivelsfield, Burgess Hill, Hassocks and Preston Park.

Trains between Brighton and Seaford / Hastings are replaced by buses between Brighton and Lewes.

Thameslink

Trains will run between Bedford and Three Bridges. Please note that due to engineering work taking place in the London Bridge area, these trains will be diverted and will not stop at London Bridge. 

Customers should use Southern trains between Three Bridges and Brighton to complete your journey.

A reduced service will operate between Bedford and Gatwick Airport.

Extended journey times between South Croydon and Coulsdon South on Sunday 22 September

Buses replace early morning trains between Hitchin and Peterborough on Sunday 22 September

Between London Kings Cross and Peterborough

Engineering work is taking place between Hitchin and Peterborough from 01:00 until approximately 07:30, closing all lines.

Buses will replace trains between Hitchin and Peterborough. Please note that this includes some trains at the end of Saturday service, such as the 00:46 London Kings Cross to Peterborough.

No trains between London Kings Cross and Finsbury Park until 08:30 on Sunday 22 September

Great Northern between London Kings Cross and Thameslink between London Kings Cross and Cambridge / Peterborough

Engineering work is taking place between London Kings Cross and Finsbury Park closing some lines.

No trains will run between London Kings Cross and Finsbury Park.

Customers should use London Underground between London Kings Cross and Finsbury Park.

Buses replace trains between Rochester and Rainham on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September

Routes affected:
Southeastern between London St Pancras International / London Victoria and Rochester / Rainham / Ramsgate / Dover Priory, and also between Sittingbourne and Sheerness-on-Sea Thameslink between Kentish Town and Rainham

Engineering work is taking place between Rochester and Rainham, closing all lines.

Southeastern:

Buses will replace trains between Rochester and Rainham.

High speed services running via Gravesend will run between London St Pancras International and Rochester (additionally calling at Higham), and also between Faversham and London St Pancras via Ramsgate and Dover.

Trains running via Sole Street will run between London Victoria and Rochester, and also between Rainham and Ramsgate / Dover Priory.

Trains to / from Sheerness-on-Sea will be retimed in order to connect with the amended train timetable at Sittingbourne.

Thameslink:

On Saturday, Thameslink will run an amended service, some early morning / late night services will start / terminate at Rochester, most trains will not run between Dartford and Rainham. Customers should use Southeastern trains between Dartford and Rainham.

On Sunday, no Thameslink trains will run at all. Customers should use Southeastern trains between London Bridge and Rochester, and Southeastern replacement buses between Rochester and Rainham and between Lewisham and Dartford.

  • Gatwick Airport: Escalators out of order

    The escalators will be out of order between Platform 3 & 4 and the concourse from 06:00 on 14/09/2019 until 23:59 on 31/12/2019 at Gatwick Airport station.
    Additional Information:
    The escalators on platform 3&4 are being replaced and are expected to reopen in late December.
    Lifts are available for passengers with luggage, and there will be additional station staff on hand to provide assistance.
    Platforms 3&4 are used by Southern services towards Victoria, as well as Thameslink services towards Bedford and Horsham.

  • Moorgate: Escalators out of order

    The escalators will be out of order between Street Level and the Northern Line Platforms from now until 30/11/2019 at Moorgate station.
    Additional Information:
    Until late November 2019, there will be a reduced escalator service at Moorgate station.
    The one available escalator will be running up, used to exit the Moorgate line platforms. To reach the Moorgate line platforms from the ticket office, passengers should follow the signage and use the spiral staircase.
    Passengers who have difficulty using the spiral staircase should ask a member of staff for assistance.
    This is while TfL replaces the escalators between the Great Northern platforms and the ticket office one at a time. The station may be busier than normal during busy morning and evening periods.

  • Woolwich Arsenal: Lifts out of order

    The lifts will be out of order between platform 2 and the exit from now until further notice at Woolwich Arsenal station.
    Additional Information:
    This affects Southeastern and Thameslink services towards Dartford. Please speak to station staff for further assistance.
