Fashioned from Nature
The iconic V&A Museum is offering 2-for-1 on Adult tickets (£12) to their award-winning exhibition Fashioned from Nature, when you quote GTRFFN18 in person at the ticket office or enter at the checkout when you book online. This exhibition will present fashionable dress alongside natural history specimens, innovative new fabrics and dyeing processes, inviting visitors to think about the materials of fashion and the sources of their clothes.
This award-winning exhibition explores the complex relationship between fashion and nature from 1600 to the present day.
300 beautiful, intriguing and unsettling objects highlight fashion’s dependence on the riches of nature for inspiration, energy and raw materials to satisfy our desire for pleasure and novelty.
Exquisite garments and accessories by Christian Dior, Dries van Noten and Philip Treacy show how fashionable dress constantly draws power and inspiration from nature.
Designs from Calvin Klein to Stella McCartney show how contemporary designers are creating desirable and exciting sustainable fashion.
The exhibition traces 400 years of fashion and asks what we can learn from fashion practices of the past. It celebrates fashion’s creativity and innovation and asks how the industry and we, as consumers, can harness these qualities to design a vibrant but more responsible fashion system that respects, protects and celebrates the natural world.
