Gatelines at stations
We are committed to reduce ticketless travel across our network. Reducing the number of passengers who don’t pay for their tickets is fairer for our honest customers - the vast majority of you. It will also help us to decrease crime and antisocial behaviour on the network, as the British Transport Police has established a proven link between ticketless travel and crime.
We will do this by:
- Installing new automatic gates at 20 stations across the whole franchise
- Having ticket sales facilities at all stations
- Reducing fraud through smartcard technology
Automatic gate-lines are currently being installed at the following stations:

|Palmers Green||Queen’s Road, Peckham|
These gatelines will be fully operational by 30 September, and we will be trialling the use of these gatelines locally at some stations from 19 September. Staff will be available to assist passengers using the gates.
