Disruption between Haywards Heath and Brighton until end of the day

Due to a points failure between Haywards Heath and Brighton:

Impact:
Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer Advice:
Due to a points failure in the Preston Park area, Southern had been unable to run services between Haywards Heath and Brighton. This fault has now been rectified, but delays are expected to continue until the end of service.

Network Rail, who own and maintain the track, have attended the reported points failure and have now rectified the fault.

Brighton & Hove Buses accepting tickets on any reasonable routes
Mutual ticket acceptance is in place between Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express on all reasonable routes.

Replacement buses have been resourced and are in operation between Brighton and Haywards Heath.

Upcoming works

Major engineering work at London Bridge affecting Thameslink until January 2018

As part of the government sponsored Thameslink Programme, Network Rail are rebuilding London Bridge mainline rail station to provide more space, improved connections to more destinations and more reliable services. The rail and tube station will remain open during the work.

Until 2018, there will be long and short term changes to train services as major track work takes place around London Bridge station.

Amended late night Thameslink trains from Monday 27 to Thursday 30 March

From 23:00 each night, Network Rail are carrying out engineering work at various locations on the Thameslink network.

Customer Advice:

Trains between Luton and Sutton are diverted between Streatham and Sutton via Mitcham Junction (not stopping) and will run non stop. Customers for stations via Wimbledon should use TfL buses.

Buses will replace trains between Three Bridges and Brighton.

Buses replace trains between Ely and Cambridge on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 April

Network Rail are carrying out engineering work between Ely and Cambridge, closing the line.

Customer Advice:

Buses replace trains between Ely and Cambridge.

CrossCountry will also run buses between Peterborough, March, Ely and Cambridge on Sunday.

On Sunday, East Midlands Trains services will be replaced by buses between Norwich and Peterborough.

Network Rail are carrying out engineering work between London Bridge and East Croydon, closing some lines.

Thameslink services between London Bridge and Brighton will not run.
