Delays through Stevenage expected until 15:15

For safety reasons, the electricity had to be switched off at Stevenage while repairs to the electrical supply were taking place. The repairs have been completed and the electricity has been switched on. Trains are expected to be delayed by up to 40 minutes at the station as services return to normal. This is expected until 15:15.

Great Northern customers can use Greater Anglia on any reasonable route.

Delays to services between Stevenage and Hitchin

Following the electricity being switched off for safety reasons earlier today between Stevenage and Hitchin all lines have now reopened.
Impact:
Train services running through these stations may be delayed. Disruption is expected until 15:15 20/01.

Electrical Power Supply Problem
There is a power failure affecting our equipment and Network Rail, who own and maintain the equipment have staff attending to assess and are working with the power companies to restore power as quickly as possible. Whilst this is ongoing, our services may be delayed or subject to alteration. Once power is restored, we will be working to restore the train service to the normal timetable as quickly as possible. We are sorry for the problems this disruption will cause you.

Upcoming works

Major engineering work at London Bridge affecting Thameslink until January 2018

As part of the government sponsored Thameslink Programme, Network Rail is rebuilding London Bridge mainline rail station to provide more space, improved connections to more destinations and more reliable services. The rail and tube station will remain open during the work.

Until 2018, there will be long and short term changes to train services as major track work takes place around London Bridge station.

Buses replace trains between Alexandra Palace and Hertford North from 23:45 until 04:50 Monday 16 to Friday 20 January

Engineering work is taking place between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage via Hertford North closing all lines.

Buses will replace trains from 23:50 between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage via Hertford North.

Non folding bicycles are not allowed on rail replacement bus services at any time. Folding bicycles are allowed if fully folded. For more information, please see here.

Amended Thameslink services on Sunday 22 January

Network Rail are carrying out engineering work between London St Pancras International and Radlett, and also between Kentish Town and Loughborough Junction. The line through central London will be closed.

A revised Thameslink services will in in operation all day with no trains running between London St Pancras International and Herne Hill.

From approximately 08:00, some trains towards Bedford will be amended to start from Hendon or West Hampstead Thameslink.

A reduced amended service will operate between London St Pancras International and Bedford / Luton, using alternative platforms at the London Terminal.

No trains between Hitchin and Peterborough until 08:45 on Sunday 22 January

Description:

Network Rail are carrying out Engineering work from 01:20 on Sunday 22 January between Hitchin and Peterborough, closing all lines.

Customer Advice:

London Kings Cross to Peterborough services will be diverted to terminate at Letchworth Garden City. A bus service will run from Letchworth Garden City to Peterborough, calling at intermediate stations.
